From the Top!

Updated: Aug 6, 2019

We interrupt your regularly schedule programming with this message from our sponsor... uh I mean me.

"Once upon a time..." wait no that's not it. "In a galaxy far, far away..." no, no not that one either. "In a hole in the ground, there lived a hobbit..." nope, no, definitely not. Well regardless, for this post, I thought it might be nice to switch things up a bit. While tips about the industry are great, I'm sure they begin to get a little less exciting to read after a while. So instead, I thought I would give you glimpse into the world of Bex (me.)

I grew up in a small town on the plains of eastern Colorado; dirt roads and friendly waves from anyone you drove past; the smell of wildflowers, pine trees, and farmland wafting through the open windows. It was beautiful place to grow up and solidified my love of nature. With all the wonders of Colorado at my doorstep, it was a gateway for creativity.

It started with music: playing the flute, bass guitar (isn't she a beauty??>) and piano while discovering everything the world of music had to offer. My love for 80's rock and movie scores is unmatched! From there, drawing and painting became a new passionate hobby and from what I gather the stepping stone to falling in love with photography. I loved being able to take real life images and capturing them on paper; a keepsake and a memory I could cherish regardless of the passing time.

When I entered college, I found my greatest passion and decided to pursue it as a career: Event Planning. With an planning mindset and LOVE for details, it was a match made in heaven. Along the way I continued my love for creating and found myself gravitating towards Photography as well. I earned my Bachelor's degree from Colorado State University (GO RAMS!) and went on to earn certifications in Event Planning, Event Design, and Event Photography. I interned with some exquisite companies and some unfortunate companies; I truly learned more about the industry than I could have ever hoped for and these experiences introduced me to my greatest passion: Weddings. I love everything about them: the planning, the details, the colors, the traditions and the amazing people I get to work with!

It sparked a joy and determination in me so strong, I made the decision to start my own business; a business that would offer both Event Planning and Photography services and what I thought my clients deserved: great services for realistic prices.

So there it is. That's the story all about how, my life got flipped-turned upside down... oops, sorry, channeled my inner Fresh Prince there for a moment.

I've had the pleasure of running my business and following my dreams for almost five years; meeting some of the best people along the way. I wouldn't trade a minute of it! I can't wait to see what's next for me and my company, and I truly hope you'll be a part of it!

Any who, that's enough about me for now! I hope you enjoyed learning about how I got to where I am today!

Until next time!

Adios amigos,

Bex
